Awards for innovative, enterprising Leeds business graduates
Plus Minus Design was formed by three University of Leeds graduates - Adam Robinson, Henry James and Tom Eales. The company has been in business since September 2009. Plus Minus Design The company works with businesses to transform the environmental and social impact of their products and services by providing innovative and creative design solutions. The Sir Peter Thompson Enterprise Award is supported by Leeds alumnus and serial entrepreneur Sir Peter Thompson, It is worth £5,000 and is given to the most promising entrepreneurs from the University of Leeds. Sir Peter Thompson says, 'I'd like to congratulate Plus Minus and all our enterprising finalists on their success, which vividly demonstrates the contribution they are making to our economy, even in the most difficult of economic climates.' Plus Minus Design also won the first prize in the University of Leeds' Annual Business Plan competition. Plus Minus were also national finalists in the NACUE (National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs) Varsity Pitch Competition. NACUE is a national organisation that supports and represents university enterprise societies and student entrepreneurs to drive the growth of entrepreneurship across the UK. Professor Richard Williams OBE, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for enterprise and knowledge transfer at the University of Leeds said: 'Awards like this are a great way of encouraging enterprise amongst students, encouraging them to work together and to link their skills and training directly to their future careers.
