Birmingham City Business School opens new Postgraduate and Professional Teaching Suite

Birmingham City Business School, part of Birmingham City University, has opened a new Postgraduate and Professional Teaching Suite.

The fifth floor of Galton Building at Birmingham City University's City North Campus in Perry Barr has been completely refurbished to become the brand new Postgraduate and Professional Teaching Suite. It will act as a hub for the many students who are studying full or part-time for masters and postgraduate professional courses such as MBA, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, (CIPD) and the Chartered Institute of Publication Relations (CIPR) Diploma.

The official opening of the Postgraduate and Professional Teaching Suite on Thursday 7th October, was marked by the cutting of a ribbon by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, David Tidmarsh, who said, 'The university is committed to putting its students first and the new postgraduate suite is an example of this.'

The area was designed by Birmingham-based architects D5. Ian Saunders of D5 said: 'We designed it to be a vibrant centre of a busy part of the Business School. Our brief was to make it a casual area that would act as a hub for the postgraduate students. I and many of my colleagues at D5 are graduates of the Business School and our company has a long history of working with Birmingham City University.'
