Brandeis University expanding its respected international business school

Whatever your business career outlook - managing investment portfolios, designing  government trade and financial policies, or overseeing company's finances – a firm and comprehensive understanding of the forces driving the global economy is critical .

The Brandeis University International Business School MA is an innovative, two-year degree that targets the expansion of these essential skills.  Compared to an MBA, it provides depth in finance and economics. And unlike an economics degree, it's applied rather than theoretical.

If you find international issues interesting and exciting, and are planning a career that may involve sophisticated analysis in finance, business and/or economic policy – than the MA may be for you. The MA hones technical skills, provides international experience, and connects students to real challenges in firms, economies, and financial markets.

The International Business School recently announced a generous gift of $5 million by Louis ’56 and Barbara Perlmutter to establish the Perlmutter Institute for Global Business Leadership.

The mission of the Institute is to prepare students for the global leadership positions of the future. The Institute will help students to define and develop their analytical decision-making skills through interaction with seasoned global business and policy leaders.

"Barbara and I share a deep commitment to preparing our business leaders of tomorrow for what they will face in the real world," Louis Perlmutter said. "It is our vision that the Institute act as a bridge between the theoretical and technical knowledge that the student masters in the classroom, and the pragmatic skills needed for success in the rapidly changing world of business and finance. The only way to accomplish that is through exposure to real-world difficulties and interaction with seasoned practitioners who have lived and solved some of those problems."
