ESCP Europe Business School
Master in Marketing and Creativity
Course Outline
Our Master in Marketing and Creativity is a unique programme offering all the elements of a high-level Master in Marketing programme and an innovative approach which places creativity at its very core.
Aimed at talented graduates holding Honours degree in any discipline and a minimum one year work experience in the creative industries or customer-related activity, this is a 15-month course, the majority of which is based at the London campus, with one term hosted on our Paris campus. During the nine months of the taught portion of the programme, participants benefit from considerable project work thanks to the marketing consultancy projects. The programme ends with a 12-week industry internship and the submission of a professional thesis. All classes are taught in English.
Students are presented with an inspiring curriculum which not only covers all aspects of marketing strategy, but also draws upon film, music, architecture, fashion and more to demonstrate how intrinsically linked the creative arts have become to today’s most successful marketing campaigns.
Some of the modules taught on the course include:
- Art and science of creativity
- Financial Skills for Marketers
- Consumers and Consumer Value
- Breakthrough Strategies, Business Analysis and Planning
- Branding and the Creation of Value
- Marketing of Innovation: From Creativity to Implementation
- Value Creation through Product Management
- Integrated Marketing Communications
- Digital Marketing and Social Media
- Creativity in Managing Business Relationships
- Managing Trends and Talents
Specialist seminars on fashion, design, architecture, film, music, language, art, theatre and advertising are included thanks to our partnerships with UK and European beacons of creativity. Students benefit from studying in London, one of the recognised centres of creative excellence, as well as from the support of the School’s outstanding world-class faculty.
Hands-on Approach
As we believe in the value of practical application, our students’ learning experience extends far beyond the lecture hall. With close links to industry leaders, ESCP Europe provides the opportunity to take on a 3-month professional internship and apply the newly-found skills in the workplace. Our Master in Marketing and Creativity students also work on live company consultancy projects, during which teams of students are briefed by a corporate client and provide solutions and proposals therein.
What do our students think?
After finishing my Bachelor in Business Administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, I completed an internship at L’Oréal Germany. There I gained valuable experience as a Trade Marketing and Key Account Manager in the luxury products division, and my time there led me to consider a future in marketing and sales. As a result, I decided to pursue further academic study in the specific field of marketing, bringing me to ESCP Europe’s Master in Marketing and Creativity programme.
ESCP Europe was my first choice for two main reasons: not only is it one of the leading business schools in Europe, but it also benefits from several international campuses, ensuring not only the experience abroad I was looking for, but also a multicultural and dynamic learning atmosphere.
I was lucky that ESCP Europe introduced their Master in Marketing and Creativity programme in 2010; it was exactly what I was looking for at just the right time. To work in marketing today you must be able to combine a mix of analytical skills with creative judgement, and that is exactly what the MMK teaches students. The additional focus on creativity also makes this programme unique, and I am hoping that this uniqueness will offer me a competitive advantage in my future career.

Programme: Master in Marketing and Creativity, Class of 2011
After gaining some professional experience both in Italy and the UK, I decided to complement my education and experience with a Master in Marketing, leading me to apply for ESCP Europe’s MMK programme.
The course is varied and extremely hands-on, offering lectures, seminars, company visits and a professional internship. I am hoping to do my internship at a company within the green technology and sustainability sector, and I have been very impressed with the career support I have received from the London School’s career service.
I would recommend this programme to anyone interested in a career in marketing (or the creative industries as a whole), specifically where innovation plays a vital role. The multicultural class, the high quality teaching and the hands-on study all prepare students to understand and work effectively in today’s business world.
