Edge Hill University
The Edge Hill Business School -
A Global Education

An introduction from the Director John Vaughan:
“In today’s global market it is increasingly desirable for students to have experience of different countries and cultures, and studying in the UK will give you a major advantage. Qualifications gained in the UK have global recognition and the experience and skills you will gain from studying here will provide you with qualities appreciated by employers worldwide.

At the Business School we value the contribution all our students make to create an interesting and diverse environment. We are committed to developing a community that brings together full-time, part time and international students, University staff and employers, all engaged in knowledge and skills development at undergraduate, postgraduate and research level. When international students join the School they become part of this community and the support it provides.

Many universities today recruit very large numbers of international students onto their business and computing programmes. By selecting fewer students the School is able to provide more support to students and the opportunity to take up a work-placement as part of their course, supported by an academic member of staff. So if you are a strong academic student, looking for an interesting and supportive environment that gives you the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge to the real world of work, then Edge Hill Business School is the right choice for you

The Business School
The Edge Hill Business School offers a range of innovative and interesting programmes, relevant to the contemporary business and IT environment, and that are geared to providing a stimulating and intellectually challenging Higher Education experience.

The Business School is increasingly engaged with the business community and undertaking more research activity. This growth though will not change the fundamental professional, open and friendly nature of the school. The excellent working relationship which exists between staff and students is a feature we are determined to maintain and which is reflected in the excellent results in the National Student Survey! We will do our part to make sure that your time here is enjoyable and productive.

One of the unique attributes of the school is that it contains both Business and Computing. This means that, as well as providing programmes in these two disciplines, we can ensure that our computing students have a good understanding of the world of business and that our business students have an exposure to the many technological changes which impact on management.

Placements and links with industry
Designed in consultation with leading employers, our courses ensure students gain highly relevant experience and use industry standard equipment.

Employers value students who have undertaken work experience, been able to reflect upon that experience and then go on to articulate and apply what they have learned. Please refer to the placement opportunities below.
