Glamorgan celebrates its MBA success

Last month Glamorgan Business School held a celebration dinner at the Millennium Stadium to mark the success of its Masters in Business Administration course.

Past and present students attended the event during which Glamorgan MBA graduate and former Welsh international athlete and rugby player Nigel Walker, spoke about his experiences on the course and the grate effect it has had on his career.

Nigel’s job now is Head of Change and Internal Communications for BBC Wales. He said, ‘I remember asking the question in the late 1990s what the best qualification would be for me to take as a mature student. I was told that the MBA was not only relevant at that time but would continue to be going forward.

‘How right that advice was! Since graduating I have used my qualification in a number of positions I have held including my BBC Wales roles of Head of Sport and then Head of Internal Communications and Change. The relaxed atmosphere within the Business School was totally conducive to learning and the tutors were simply outstanding.’

Glamorgan’s MBA course can be studied full-time or part-time, and it is designed for professionals who will make a strategic difference to the organisations in which they operate. Subject areas covered include financial management, marketing, leadership and strategy.
