Health and Social Care Leadership Institution: Sheffield Hallam University Faculty: Health and Wellbeing Department: Single tier structure Level: Postgraduate Study modes: Part time Course content: This course is for health and social care managers and leaders at any level and with any amount of experience; it supports ongoing professional development towards improved effectiveness, and greater management and leadership responsibility; its flexible design supports students in the workplace; learning is based on students’ own employment experiences and directly related to the challenges they face; the assessments require students to apply theoretical learning to their work practice, and assignments usually ask them to carry out an analysis of a real workplace issue which often involves implementing a work-based change or development; students receive the support of staff and peers as they complete these; students complete a number of written assignments based around changes they have implemented and projects they have developed and completed; students learn to reflect on their professional development and to regularly review their professional development needs and plans; they also learn through discussion and action relating to their work setting and role.
