UEA to host open evening for its business courses

The University of East Anglia (UEA) will be holding an open evening for students interested in the Master of Business Administration (MB) courses available at Norwich Business School on Thursday 6th May.

This event will give potential students the chance to find out about the Norwich Business School’s MBA courses, which are constructed specifically to help students invest in their careers by building on past business experience, whilst learning new skills and business methods, and combining theoretical knowledge with the realities of the workplace.

The Norwich Business School also offers the world’s first MBA in Strategic Carbon Management which can now be undertaken in Norwich or at UEA London.

As well as the full-time General MBA, Norwich Business School also runs an Executive MBA, which can be studied part time over 27 months while working full time.

Speaking about her experience at UEA, Sarah Harris, Executive MBA graduate and medical practice manager, said: ‘I had been considering undertaking a managerial course that would not only be useful in my role as business partner at a busy medical practice, but also one that was respected in the business world. It has been a fantastic experience and one that I would have hated to miss! It was the push I needed to reach my full potential.’

All courses start in January and do not involve a traditional dissertation. Instead, students undertake a Management Consultancy Skills module comprising two consultancy projects and a challenge event to help them gain valuable real-life experience while they study.

Current students, graduates and course directors will be on hand to talk about the MBA experience and answer questions from potential students. Examples of work, including the challenge events and consultancy projects, will also be presented.

MBA graduate Jayasurya Tadiparthi said: ‘The MBA programme at UEA provides the global business capabilities – comprehensive skills, knowledge and networks – required to deliver results. It is very intense and focused, and not only did it help me learn various tools but it also gave me the opportunity to practice them in reality through the consultancy projects. At the end you come out full of ideas and optimism!’

The event runs from 6pm-8.30pm on Thursday 6th May at the Thomas Paine Study Centre on campus.
