The programme caters for graduates wanting to develop a career in human resource management, an area in which there are many opportunities; it is distinctive in being internationally orientated, and devotes attention to issues related to international human resource management policies and practices; by the end of the programme you will have a high standard of knowledge and understanding of the current practical, intellectual and policy challenges facing practitioners in the field of human resource management; these include: The relationship between HRM and business strategy; the impact of HRM on company performance; the challenge of developing HRM strategies in an international context; the implications of new individual and collective employment rights; managing change and introducing new forms of work organisation; ensuring that employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

  • MSc Strategic Marketing and Consulting
    Aimed at those already familiar with marketing concepts, this programme develops and advanced knowledge of contemporary and complex strategy challenges facing marketers. You will use real-life consultancy projects to develop specialist expertise and to enhance your skills.
  • MSc Marketing Communications
    Using real life consultancy projects, you will develop an advanced knowledge of integrated marketing communications, incorporating both traditional and new media. You will need to be familiar with marketing concepts, either holding a related degree or having relevant work experience.
  • DBA
    A doctoral qualification that combines academic study with applied practical experience. Using established research techniques, you will have the opportunity to think more critically about the work that you do. This will culminate in a piece of original, applied business research worthy of publication. The part-time programme, taking between four and six years to complete, is designed for experienced managers.
  • MBA
    Birmingham Business School offers a comprehensive range of MBA programmes to students with a good first degree and relevant work experience. Subjects of study range from International Business to more specialised programmes such as Global Banking and Finance, and Strategy and Procurement Management. Programmes are taught full and part time to accommodate the needs of students.
