The course is designed to meet the needs of the leader and manager working in the health and social care field; the course is intended to provide those leading and managing in health and social care services with an understanding of the changing context of management and organisation in these sectors; the course focuses on management and leadership issues, drawing on the experiences of the students and relating their work situation to theoretical models of leadership and management in the public, voluntary and independent sectors; the programme also recognises that the management of services is constantly evolving and, therefore, addresses key issues of organisational change and development in the health and social care sectors.
