Sustainability (Ecological Economics) Institution: University of Leeds Faculty: Environment Department: School of Earth and Environment Level: Postgraduate Study modes: Full time Course content: This programme focuses on the field of ecological economics as it analyses interactions between economy, society and environment; it is at this intersection that the complexity of production, consumption and policy choices, is recognised; to address these choices, ecological economists use analytical tools and draw on concepts coming from many different disciplines and fields of experience; the programme combines courses which build strong foundations in broader debates on sustainability with more specialist courses which examine the principles, tools and applications of environmental and ecological economics; it introduces students to the range of economic perspectives and tools and it shows how they can be applied and used to address environmental problems in a wide range of different contexts.
