Sports Management and Leadership Institution: Cardiff Metropolitan University (UWIC) Faculty: Cardiff School of Sport Department: Sport Level: Postgraduate Study modes: Part time Course content: This course is of particular relevance to experienced professionals such as sport managers and administrators and others involved in the sport and leisure industry who wish to develop their skills in management and leadership; the programme offers opportunities for professional and career development and focuses on applied and experiential learning; compulsory modules: principles for management and leadership; leadership and sports organisations; organisational strategy; planning for business performance; personal skill development (1/2 module); research skills (1/2 module); 2 option modules chosen from: the volunteer workforce; partnership, politics and the policy agenda; entrepreneurship; independent choice; on successful completion of the taught modules students may undertake the final project (equivalent of 3 modules or 60 credits) that leads to the award of the Master’s.
